Welcome to Perceptual Horror
I’m A. Jay F. Roy, and I created Perceptual Horror—a genre where grief warps reality and the mind becomes the horror.
About Perceptual Horror
Perceptual Horror turns trauma into reality’s architect. Grief bends geometry, hallucinations reveal truth, and love betrays. It’s born from my life—my mother’s death, my brother’s survival, and the Frausto-Alfaro lineage.
The Adventures of Alex Midas
A 16-novella saga, The Adventures of Alex Midas spans 240 episodes, released every 18 months, moving from psychological to cosmic horror. Each novella is a lesson in perception.
The Mortality Timeline ties the series to my lifespan, with the final novella—Alex narrating my biography—sealed until 2052 or my death.
My Story
I’ve lived these horrors—signing to end my mother’s life support, donating a kidney to my brother, driving my Challenger through grief. Perceptual Horror is my family’s memories mythologized, written for my descendants and yours.
The Cosmic Classics Universe
Perceptual Horror anchors the Cosmic Classics Universe, a storyworld open to future voices but rooted in my vision. It’s designed to outlive me, ensuring Alex Midas endures.
